AIMS OF THE PROJECT

Halt the deteriorating state in which the street children find themselves, with the help of generous people, giving them hope, before is too late.


PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES

• It has an Open-Entry; any child coming for the first time has a clean and safe place to sleep and the opportunity to leave the street.
• It provides the basic needs of youths and children in the street, trying to take them to their refuge to reintegrate them to society.
• It tries to protect them from the dangers of living in the street and help them overcome negative stereotypes.

VOLUNTEER’S REQUIREMENTS


• Interest in working with children and juveniles (12-18 years old)
• Responsible and to be prepared for hard work
• Take initiative
• Minimum age required 21 years old

VOLUNTEER’S ACTIVITIES • Street Educator: talking with the street children trying to convince them to get out of the street and come to enjoy the project’s refuge
• Refuge Educator: sharing, playing and helping the children in their needs, to make them feel good; staying in Casa Alianza, in order to prevent those children will not go back to the street (sports, arts, informal education …)
• Family reintegration: meeting the street children’s family and knowing their background, in order for them to take care of their child afterwards

AIMS OF THE PROJECT

• Help mentally disable people to feel useful and adapted to the society.
• To reveal the natural talents of mentally disabled people.

PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES

• Homes: Giving the mentally disabled people the chance to form a true family with a simple life
• Workshops: discovering their dignity, feeling useful and fulfill a job adaptability to their capacities.
• School: offering a special education program, which permits them enjoy and learn to relate to the others


VOLUNTEER’S REQUIREMENTS


• Mature Person: capable to handle the environment on the project

• Be communicative
• Be patient
VOLUNTEER’S ACTIVITIES • Attending work in Workshops, preparing Workshops or clubs
• Helping in evaluation and occupational therapy of each individual.
• Sharing and living with everyone in the project and participate in everyday life of these people.
• Living in one of the homes demands the exchange to take care of the disabled during the mornings and evenings, participating preparing their meals and house duties as well as sharing other things like free time in a family.

AIMS OF THE PROJECT

Give to the homeless children of any race, nationality or religion a family and home, preparing them to have an autonomous life in the future.


PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES

It counts with a number of annex institutions, where its children and youths are prepared for independent life. At the same time it contributes to their integration to the neighborhood, opening doors to other children and youths around them.
These institutions are:
• Youth Institutions • Infant’s Kindergartens
• Schools • Formation and Production Centers
• Social Centers • Medical Centers
• Emergency Help Programs

PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES

• Education: Pre-scholar, for children under 7 years old, No formal education, for people with different ages, short term. It helps children get new uniforms for school, scholar material …
• Integral Health: Health Education and Promotion, Community Projects of improvement of integral health, Medical attention.
• Promotion for Production: Financial Technical Support for Production (Communal Banks, Micro – business, Technical training, etc.)
• Reintegration: Attention pro children’s returns to the family, school and Community. (Contacting, Accompanying, attending their transition, follow up in children integration process)
• Familiar Attention: Promotion, remission and follow up of their families; Establishment of children to children relation, to promote communal leaders and teams.

AIMS OF THE PROJECT

• Encouraging individual and collective initiative of the Community fomenting the solidarity and help in order to solve the street children’s situation.
• Creating Pedagogic Programs needed in children adaptability
• Implementing prevention measures to avoid the increment of street children and the youthful delinquency.


PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES

• Street: in this stage the street educator gets in contact with the children, becomes their friend, gets to know better, and afterwards forms a profile of their situation
• Casa de la Liberated: this is the second stage, where the children have a place to eat, have fun in their spare time, get medical and psychological attention and prepare them for the next stage
• Centro Monsignor Falls: this is the third stage where children has place to live and eat, also in this stage the children get clothes, formal education in schools of the Community, occupational therapy in the carpentry and soldering workshops

VOLUNTEER’S ACTIVITIES The exchange working with this project will be in the third stage “Centro Monsignor Falls”.

Help children and families who work at the market places, increasing their opportunities to improve their environment

• Studies: help the children in their school homework
• Health: organize activities and talks about health (AIDS, sexuality, cleanliness …)
• Cultural Activities: different activities with the children, like theatre pieces, painting, dancing, etc.
• Workshops with their mothers: to teach them how to do handicrafts which can be an extra income for the family and it’s also an opportunity to have a talk with their mothers about their family situation

Start changes in the Street Children’s life, through continues attention to their needs


PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES

• Street: bring attention to the children on the street through their educators, to rescue the children giving them friendship, health attention and inviting them to participate in their activities
• Shelter: work full time giving the children food, education, and a place to rest
• Social Reintegration: Most of the children on the street have families, the project tries to integrate them to their families
• Scholarship Program: Most of the children don’t study because their families can’t give them economical support, the project gives them the opportunity to attend school
• Learning and Production Workshops: This is a Vocational Training that gives older children the opportunity to get a work and live by them selves.

• Making contact with the children on the street to make contact with them in order to let them know the opportunity to attend the project.
• The second stage is moving into a transitional home.
• Moving into a permanent home.
• Introducing them into society as responsible citizens.

Helps the children who suffers Cancer.
This foundation is a non profit organization that works only and mainly for the less privileged children that are been treated for cancer in the Hospital of the city Tegucigalpa
.


PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES

• Provides the medical treatment that the hospital can not provide.
• Organize recreational and educational activities for the children.
• Supports the relatives of the patients.
• Create consciousness on the population about the necessity of obtaining founds addressed to support the children who suffers from Cancer.
